On October 18, 2017, Amy T. Brooks presented on the topic “Getting PDE on Your Side” at the PASA-PSBA School Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA. When school clients handle PDE special education investigations and complaints without involving legal counsel, it is often to their detriment. Amy discussed how solicitors can improve the process and outcomes of PDE investigations and audits for their clients.
Participants learned from examples and conversation about PDE investigations, what the process and appeals process entails, what legal requirements exist, and how to reduce corrective action and use positive results from investigations and audits to your client’s advantage in future litigation.
