Mary J. Pedersen’s practice is focused on the representation of individuals and businesses in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania in wide-ranging matters including, business disputes, internal partnership/shareholder disputes, defense of employment discrimination claims, defense of educational institutions in premises liability matters, contract disputes, business torts and workplace discrimination and harassment.
Ms. Pedersen is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she competed on the varsity gymnastics team. She received her law degree from Villanova University in 1997 graduating as a member of the scholastic honor society, Order of the Coif. During her second and third years of law school, Ms. Pedersen was an Associate Editor for the Villanova Law Review, and published “Boudreau v. United States: Government Immunity under the Flood Control Act of 1928 and the Effect of Outdated Legislation on Society.”
Representative Matters
- Represents employers in the defense of employment practices claims including, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, ADA, ADEA, and FMLA in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Counsels individuals and businesses regarding employment related matters, including employee misconduct investigations, policy and statutory compliance, regulatory proceedings, and enforcement of non-compete agreements.
- Represents individuals and businesses in often contentious partnership/shareholder disputes and business dissolutions.
- Represents educational institutions and businesses in the defense of personal injury claims and other premises liability matters.
- Represents businesses and individuals in a variety of commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, fraud claims, breach of fiduciary duty claims, contractual interference claims, tort claims, and payment claims and defenses.
Personal Interests
Ms. Pedersen lives in Pottstown with her husband and two daughters. When not practicing law, she enjoys trips to Disney World with her family, watching her daughters compete in gymnastics, and NASCAR race day Sundays.
